METAL ROOFS
If you’re looking for a different look and option other than shingles, a new metal roof from HORIZON may be for you.

There are different types of metal roofs you can choose from such as:
- Aluminum
- Copper
- Galvalume Steel

Metal roofs do have their advantages when compared to the everyday shingle roof replacement.
Appearance and curb appeal may be the number one reason customers choose to install a metal roof. With so many color options, you can choose almost any color combination of metal to go on your home.
PROS of Metal Roofs
- A metal roof is definitely a longer lasting option than shingles and can last a lifetime!
- Metal roofs typically will never leak. With a standing seam metal roof, there are no exposed fasteners or seams so moisture really has nowhere it can penetrate.
- Metal roofing systems are lightweight, weighing almost ½ as much as an asphalt shingle roof. They also reflect sunlight and can actually keep your home cooler in the summer which is important to that customer wanting a “green” roofing option.
CONS of Metal Roofs
- The one thing that you will get from a metal roof is a distinctive sound when it rains. Some customers actually like this and prefer it but others consider it a problem.
- Price! Price is always something that a customer has to take into consideration when getting their roof replaced. Metal roofs do carry a much higher price tag than shingles and can take longer to install.
